WHO WE ARE Cedar Valley Community Support Services is a state-approved Supported Community Living Agency (SCL). We advocate for our clients to ensure that community services, as well as state and federal programs, remain available to them. It is of paramount importance to involve our clients in all aspects of their programming, including agency decision making, whenever possible. WHO WE SERVE Cedar Valley Community Support Services provides a viable option in the selection of a community-based residential support system for individuals with mental retardation, mental illness, traumatic head injury, or developmental disabilities. All individuals seeking admission to the Cedar Valley Community Support Services’ SCL Program will be reviewed under the same pre-admission criteria without regard to race, ethnicity, creed, sex, national origin, religion or sexual orientation. Referrals to CVCSS may be made by individuals, family members, state or county DHS (Department of Human Services) officials and community agencies. WHAT WE PROVIDE Cedar Valley Community Support Services offers residential units that are centrally located to medical facilities, shopping centers and public transportation. CVCSS also provides services to individuals in their own apartments or homes. By tailoring residential options to the individual, CVCSS offers the opportunity to succeed at life’s challenges while offering the protective oversight to minimize life’s risks. CVCSS offers the following individually tailored services: Living Skills Education Support Services Self-Care Education Transportation 24-hour Emergency Assistance Service Coordination Evaluation Medical Management Scheduled Day Activities Adult Basic Education Tutoring Financial Management
